1. General Information
Trinity League (later in text “League”) is a League of Legends competitive league organized jointly by Salsa Party, GOL Events, Sunday Gamers communities and their respective representative organizers - Neblonds#0069, rieksts#0004, Threshold#4916.
The league’s aims are to provide members of all involved communities with a chance to play League of Legends in a competitive environment and provide the communities with possibilities to meet new people and make new connections.
The league will span from approximately October to December, consisting of two stages - League Stage and a Playoff Stage.
The rulebook is valid for the entirety of the league season and is applicable to teams, their captains and players. The organizers reserve the right to make changes in the rulebook at any point during the league in the case of any controversial situation or other issues with the general ruling and wording of the document.
2. Requirements and Registration
To register for the league, all following requirements must be fulfilled:
Have joined the Trinity League server;
Have a LVL30 League of Legends EUNE account with at least 20 playable champions;
Nicknames containing purely commercial, defamatory, pejorative, offensive, vulgar, obscene, racist, nationalistic and any other hate speech related ideas will not be permitted.
The registration for the league will open in the Trinity League Discord server on 24th September and will be open until 1st October 23:59.
Players will be asked to provide the organizers with their Discord tags and the League of Legends account they use. They will also be asked to provide their current rank AND their peak rank on any server at any time while playing League of Legends.
The registration form will also ask the players questions regarding the league - would they want additional disciplines, preferred match days and other suggestions for the organizers.
3. Season Structure
The league will consist of a team creation & captain assignment stage, draft, league stage (regular season) and a playoff stage. An All-Star Stage may be introduced later into the season.

3.1. Team Creation & Captains
Based on the number of total player applications no less than 3 and no more than 4 teams will be created for participation in the inaugural season of the Trinity League.
The team captains will be decided based on a popularity vote during the players registration period, however the organizers reserve the right to veto any captain, based on previous known misconduct or other objective reasons the candidate is not fit for captaincy.
The captains will work with the league’s organizers to produce a team identity and will also be responsible for drafting their team, managing their roster and scheduling or rescheduling games.
3.2. Draft
All registered players except the team captains will enter the draft as eligible players for all teams to pick. Players will have a possibility to select one or more preferred captains in their registration forms but regardless will be open to selection by any team.
The draft will be held in a snake-draft form meaning the teams will pick in the following order (example: A->B->C->D; D->C->B->A). The initial order of the draft will be decided by a random draw no more than 48 hours before the draft.
The teams will be expected to follow a modified salary cap (explained below) but otherwise will be free in their draft picks.
Team captains and players are allowed to communicate with each other until they are drafted to their team. It is highly recommended for captains to communicate with players they plan to pick in order to avoid situations where the player has no interest to play for their team.
However, once drafted, the player will become a part of their respective team and will require a trade to switch teams.
Final guidelines and rules for the draft will be published as a separate document as the number of teams and players will be clear to the organizers.
3.3. Modified Salary Cap
The modified salary cap will serve to provide a means to enforce balance between the participating teams. Despite a completely free draft system, the organizers want to ensure that teams remain as balanced as possible.
The league will use an imaginary currency Salsa dollars ($) to rate all players participating as follows:
Iron - 0,1M$
Bronze - 0,5M$
Silver - 1,0M$
Gold - 2,0M$
Platinum - 3,0M$
Diamond - 5,0M$
Master - 7,0M$
Grand Master - 9,0M$
Challenger - 12,0M$
The player rank will be determined based on their current season rank or their peak rank at any time on any server minus one tier, whichever is higher.
example: Player currently Gold, Diamond S8 will be considered Platinum.
The projected salary cap will be calculated as follows: (Total Value of All Players) / (Total Number of Teams) * (Maximum Number of Players in Team After Draft). All decimals will be rounded up to a .5 or .0
Team captains are expected to follow their salary requirements throughout the draft to ensure that it complies with the expected cap.
The organizers will help any team that runs into problems with the Modified Salary Cap as the system is not tested and proven in a real league environment.
3.4. League Stage
All participating teams will enter the league stage and will play a double round-robin Best-of-Three (BO3) tournament. The default match days as per the popular vote will be set as Saturdays and Sundays 20:00.
The schedule will be randomly drawn and presented to all participating teams after the draft. Teams will be able to reschedule their matches, more information on the procedure is provided in the section “Match Schedule”.
Based on the schedule, the team pointed on the left of the schedule will have priority for side selection. All teams will have side priority in at least one match against every opponent.
During the third round, the team that performed better in head-to-head matches will have side selection priority.
In a BO3 series, game 2 and game 3 side selection priority goes to the team that lost the previous game.
Teams will receive standing points as follows:
3 - for winning the series 2-0
2 - for winning the series 2-1
1 - for losing the series 1-2
0 - for losing the series 0-2
1 point for each win in the ARAM Mid-Season Event
Teams will be sorted in the league table based on the following criteria:
Total points
Series (matches) won in head-to-head games;
Game (W-L) differential in head to head games;
Series won in all games;
Game (W-L) differential in all games;
Lowest average win time;
Random coin toss.
Series (matches) - one BO3 matchup;
Games - a single game within one BO3 series;
Average win time - average time to win in all won games.
3.5. Play-Off Stage
The Play-Off Stage will be held as a double-elimination tournament with all teams participating and seeded based on their performance in the league stage.
All games in the play-off stage will be played as BO3 series except the Grand Final which will be played as a BO5 series.
During a double-elimination tournament a team needs to be defeated twice to be eliminated with teams that suffer defeat being sent to the Loser’s Bracket. Teams that lose their match in the Loser’s Bracket are eliminated from the tournament.
4. Match Procedure
4.1. Match Scheduling
All regular season and play-off matches will be scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays at 20:00 at their respective match weeks.
In case of Clash being planned for the weekend, the games will be moved to the nearest available weekday instead to avoid server issues.
4.2. Rescheduling
Teams are allowed to reschedule any of the games except the Grand Final by reaching a mutual agreement between the captains.
The game must be moved to a date on the same gameweek and the proposed match day must not be any closer than 72 hours for production purposes.
All games remain at their default game times of 20:00 but may be moved by reaching mutual agreement with captains and organizers.
4.3. Match Day
Teams must be ready at least 10 minutes before the start of game 1 of the series. They will work together with the live stream production crew and follow their instructions as to when to start the game.
Teams must inform production with any issues that arise due to connectivity or other technical issues and must inform the organizers if the issue persists.
There may be no more than a 30 minute pause to fix technical issues (client-side) in ALL games of the series, in case an issue can not be resolved within 30 minutes the team forfeits their game and must use a substitute for the remaining games in the series.
The only reason matches can be canceled are server (Riot side) technical issues with launching the games. Such a decision can be made at the organizer's discretion.
4.4. Production
All of the games played during the league are planned for live streaming and therefore caster and co-caster teams will be assigned to every match. A stream setup guidelines will be created to ensure equal production in all games.
Teams that win their matches will be required to send one of their players to a winner’s interview after the match.
Every participant will be required to send in a recent photo of themselves for production purposes.
5. Player Movement
5.1. Joining the League
Players can only join the league by entering as team captains or by being drafted through any of the drafts performed during the season. Once drafted, a player is assigned to the team they were drafted by, and can switch teams only by a trade. Captains may not change their teams during the course of the season.
5.2. Entry Draft
Rules of the entry draft are explained in point 3.2.
5.3. Mid-Season Draft
The mid-season draft will be performed in the mid-season break after the first round of the regular season.
All players that have registered after the entry draft will be up for selection by the teams.
The draft order for balance purposes will be opposite to the order of the teams in the championship.
5.4. Team Size
All teams must have no more than the maximum indicated players per team which is calculated as follows:
All Players in the League / Number of Teams = Maximum Indicated Players Per Team*
*- rounded up
The rule must be followed when drafting, trading and any other movement of players in the league.
5.5. Trading
Players can be traded during the regular season. Players can be traded if both team captains agree to it and the involved players agree as well.
No team can exceed the maximum indicated players per team.
The players can be traded with or without using currency (their salary cap) based on the captain agreement.
In the case of a trade league organizers should be notified otherwise the trade is considered invalid and unofficial.
Players may not play for 2 different teams during the same game week. If there has already been a game played in a game week, the trade will go through next week.
6.Organization of the League
The way the league will be run can be divided into three separate subgroups: organizers, disciplinary committee, community.
6.1. Organizers
Organizers will be responsible for taking care of all the league related tasks, delegating people and ensuring that the entire season runs smoothly.
As the authors of the rulebook and owners of the league, organizers may veto any decision made by the disciplinary committee or community by a unanimous decision, if they feel the decision is not to the best of league’s interest or the decision was subject to a conflict of interest or any other issue with the decision in question.
Organizers also reserve the right to make any changes to the rulebook, schedule and other league related issues in case of necessity at any point during the season.
6.2. Disciplinary Committee (DC)
The Disciplinary Committee will have the organizers and all team captains on board to resolve any disciplinary incidents during the league season.
Every person will have one vote, regardless if they’re both a captain and organizer at the same time.
To avoid conflict of interest, all members of the DC that have a direct interest in the matter at hand (parties involved + team captains involved), will be required to abstain from voting, however they may still participate during discussion.
In case of a tie during a vote, the vote will be based on the organizers voting.
6.3 The Community
Any members of the community may move any suggestions regarding the league to the organizers. Ideally, the suggestion should have at least a few participants that agree with the change proposed, to ensure an easier decision making.
7. Discipline
Any breaches to the code of discipline and the rules of this document can be reported to any of the organizers and they will be looked at during the first opportunity the DC can look into the issue.
7.1. General Conduct
All participants are required to conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner on all platforms related to the league - games themselves, Discord and Twitch.
However it is allowed to raise rivalry between the teams but to a certain degree where there are no offensive, vulgar, obscene, racist, nationalistic or other hate speech induced words in any of the texts.
The players may be punished for misconduct even outside official league platforms if they contain serious offenses towards other players, viewers, etc - including PM platforms.
7.2. Production Interference
It is prohibited to try and attempt to enter the voice chat of the live stream without permission of the production crew.
It is also requested of all players to follow the instructions of the production team at all times during the live stream to not unnecessarily delay the stream for our viewers and the other team.
7.3. Player Poaching
The only time where teams may actively talk to players and talk about them joining is when they are not drafted and an active part of any team.
Teams may talk to other players in the league but must not actively persuade the players to force a trade. Any even potential player movement and discussion should be agreed to by both captains.
An active attempt to poach players during a season may lead to a trading ban for the offending team.
7.4. Salary Cap
Teams are expected to follow the modified salary cap at all times, however organizers may make changes to the cap, as the proposed system is not tested in a tournament environment.
However, failure to follow the cap may lead to a team being forced to trade any of their players to comply with the gap, or the organizers may attempt to make a trade for them.
7.5. Disciplinary Action
For misconduct a player may be punished with a warning, match suspensions or a temporary or permanent ban from the league.
Captains may be punished by being removed from their position as a captain.
Teams may be punished with a warning, reduced funding (S$), removed draft picks, trade ban, forfeited games and disqualification from the league.
